Word of warning to James Hartley: I have it on good word that Laura Anne Gilman is a first-class pickpocket, so be careful how close she stands near you!

Just kidding! I like your site Diana, and hope you don't mind me saying so, but that is a gorgeous shot of you in the leather jacket...I think I'm in love! ;)

Argh. Yes. The "getting back into the routine" part of any exercise regimen is the MOST difficult for me. I used to be able to walk on the treadmill at the S.A.C. for at least an hour without even cringing (though it helped that the TVs had Law&Order on them... easy to tune out body complaints when Vincent D'Onofrio is pontificating!) but now it's so easy to suck down another Oreo Shake and forget the gym.

Congrats on the move to DAW- (do they sell stock? Most of the books I buy are from them...) and am eager to read the upcoming book!

Thank you very much for posting about your getting-back-into-fitness routine. I've been trying to do this myself, by jogging, (NOT running), and it's painful. But your posts are actually inspirational to me--it's nice to know that what I'm trying to do is also trying to be done by an author whose work I like and respect.

I'm a new reader of yours--I've read Blood of the Demon and will go back to get Mark of the Demon next week. Loved it. Heard you switched publishers to DAW; since I've read several other talented authors with same publisher, I think this is a great partnership.

Good luck on your goals, and happy writing! I can't wait for Secrets of the Demon next year!!!

*snicker* yeah, kiddo, keep telling yourself those crazy delusional stories and I promise I won't tell you the truth--your book is/will be outstanding, your writing skills soar with the eagles, you will love your body as it runs/swims the miles and eventually the pain...will be pain. But the pleasure will be there, too.

whadday mean, both your loyal readers? the rest of us disloyal readers take umbrage!

There will come a day when the gender of the worker will not even be a noticeable item, but probably not in our lifetimes. Patriarchy had a good long run, and it will take several generations, I believe, for its echoes to die down. Meanwhile, sisterhood remains powerful.
