		<description>I think a large part of that is that you're not competing with their mother--you're not really old enough (we won't count technically.) After all, your daughter is right in there age-wise with the grands.  The important thing is that it works.</description>

		<description>She actually does really well at doing the majority of it herself, but she has trouble finding the right direction to go in.  Most of the time all I need to do is give her and idea of how to get started and how to approach the problem.  I also think a lot of what I do is just give moral support.  Last night she brought her project over, I wrote out two sample paragraphs for her report. She read them over, didn't even use them, then wrote out a 600 word report on her own.  I sat in the recliner and watched Cold Case on Tivo.  Everyone was happy.

I'm very lucky. I have a good relationship with my steps.</description>

Or was that true back in the Dark Ages (cough, cough) years ago, when I was but a sprout myself.  Of course, I was too damned proud to ask for help.  Maybe that was it.</description>
