The rest of her blog is worth reading as well, especially her list of creepy biological facts! Unfortunately, I have yet to read any of her novels (time, dear god I need more time in my day!), but she’s definitely in my to-read pile.

Or, you can just not go the self-publishing route, and sell a book the regular way and thus have the distribution taken care of for you.
Me, I hate road trips.
The really funny thing about that story is the author throwing his book to the floor. Did he think so little of it?
It’s kinda sad, really. I think a lot of people who self-publish are sold a line of crap about how they can make it big by promoting themselves, and so they take that easy (and expensive) way out. Yeah, publishing the “real” way is hard, but at least then the money flows toward you.

Distribution, Distribution, Distribution. I guess that’s the bottom line, all right. Maybe we need to develop a network of senior citizens in their motorhomes, travelling cross country after they’ve retired, and hire them up as distributors, one bookstore at a time. For myself, I’d love an excuse to hop in a motorhome and visit bookstores across the country. But, no, I’m still working 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Quelle dommage!
