Our labor day weekend travel plans have been adjusted slightly. We will be flying in to D.C. on Saturday, and returning whenever the airport opens up again. In addition to packing the usual clothes and toiletries, I will also be packing photo albums, insurance papers, birth/marriage certificates, and any other paperwork that is considered to be vital and difficult/impossible to replace.
It’s going to be a fun, fun weekend.
We’re still debating about leaving or not. Of course this is the weekend that we have all the company in the world coming to visit. If we leave, we’ll head for north Alabama. I think that will be far enough away.
I have no problem with it going more to the west. That would mean that I would actually be able to enjoy my vacation without stressing about what condition my house will be in when I return. (Though it does suck for those people west of here.)

1900 08/28/08: Gus is heading a bit more westerly each time they put out a bulletin.
I volunteered to evacuate dogs and/or cats. The Human Society needs transport from their highly floodable shelter to temporary quarters.
